Interview with Diane Williams for Angels in Action

Come and join me as I talk with author Diane Williams about her novel Angels in Action on Stories From Unknown Authors http://blogtalkradio.com/storiesfromunknownauthors at 1pm EST today.

Book Summary:

Angels in Action demonstrates how the author called on the power of her Creator to bring about positive changes in her life. This compilation of seventeen personal inspirational accounts tells of her experiences of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing; professional, familial, and financial trials, as well as, the building relationships. They demonstrate how a woman learns to live with the knowledge and strength afforded by a relationship with a power greater than herself, and how she is transformed into a healthy, whole individual by the power of the Holy Spirit. Through these stories the reader will gain a renewal of perspective and learn how to view obstacles in life as God showing His face in order for us, His children, to build strong, unshakable foundations.

Angels in Action is a calling of The Lord. Each short story in this book is about a moment in the author's life that showed her how to trust in The Lord and how listening to him helped her through some difficult situations. The stories in this book will help inspire others and possibly give them some help on how to handle certain situations that is happening in their own lives. Review for Operation Bumpkin Birthday by Petrina Khashoggi

Review:

Operation Bumpkin Birthday is a fun and wonderfully illustrated 56 page picture book about a trio of rat brothers, Snitch, Snatch, and Sketch, who are constantly looking for scraps of food to eat down in the subway where they live. Wanting to go on an adventure they come across more food than they would ever know what to do with. But Snatch has an idea that is different than the plan his brothers had come up with, will he be able to pull it off before he gets caught by the Bumpkins?

This story is fun and entertaining for children who are 6-10 years of age. Though the theme of family in encompassed in the book it also shows how Snatch went his own way, following his stomach. Though he had been starving in the subway his new life was much better, or was it? Being without his brothers Snatch realized how much he appreciated and loved them. It did set his priorities a little more in order. Everyone wants to have their cake and eat it too. Snatch just didn't realize until too late that he could have both family and food in his belly.

The illustrations for this book by Michael Graham are brightly colored and artistically done so well that the rats look real enough to touch. They blend with the story well and bring out perfectly the what the author intended. Children will love to look at the pictures and imagine themselves along with the characters.

Review for Battle of the Grandmas by Anthonette Klinkerman

Book Summary:

In this story of an extended family, three grandmas accidentally buy the same book for their granddaughter, and they then launch into a gift-purchasing battle for supremacy. The well-intentioned grannies race all over the Internet and town to buy the best present, the one that will win the affections of the child. The poor postman is the one left with delivering gifts of clothes, toys, DVDs, and trinkets until the little girl’s home is packed to the rafters with stuff. Finally the little girl emerges as the voice of reason and points out she cannot wear or play with all of the stuff being bought, but instead wants to spend time making memories with each grandma. In this day and age of families with multitudes of relatives, the message that time is more important than stuff comes through loud and clear.

Review:

Battle of the Grandmas is a great story about a girl who is bombarded with gifts from her three distant grandmas. To many times family members will try buying a child's love, and it happens more often than we think. All of a sudden grandma number 1 is the best because they bought the child everything they wanted. The problem with this mentality is one, the child becomes spoiled, and two, children are intelligent and will soon pick up really quickly on who they will ask to buy them things. In this story, the child didn't ask for the gifts but is given more than what she can play with or even wear. They are items she didn't want.

The author does a great job pointing out that all the girl really needs is to know that she is loved. Time spent with a child is more important than material items, especially as they get older. Hearing them laugh and doing things together is what a child truly remembers, not the items that were given away as presents or to the goodwill. Children of all ages will enjoy this 34 page picture book and the lesson that unfolds.

Pay it Forward--Author Cheryl Phipps-Romance Novels

Biography:

As a young mother with three small children, Cheryl Phipps escaped the daily chaos of motherhood through her beloved romance novels. She loved being whisked away from nappies and wiping noses to exotic locations filled with suave heroes and feisty heroines, and wonderful small towns with heart-warming tales of strong family ties and life-affirming true love.

Her bookshelves still hold those favorite authors - Nora Roberts, Marian Keyes and Cathy Kelly - plus new-found favorites who write stories that echo Cheryl's own values: family always comes first and life's struggles and challenges are always surmountable through love.

Cheryl's three children have now grown up and have families of their own, leaving her free to pursue her dreams of writing novels. She lives in a quiet suburb of New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, with her wonderful husband, who she married the moment she left school (yes, they were high school sweethearts), and their turtles Rose and Jade. She enjoys taking walks with her husband, dinner out with friends, and, of course, weaving sensual stories that celebrate the joy of love, family and resilience.

Description of Saving Stephanie:

The prodigal son has returned to Prossers Bay to care for his father, and Doctor Jamie Morris has no intention of staying longer than necessary. The gossip surrounding his alcoholic mother, which hounded his childhood, has seen to that. But seeing Stephanie again plays havoc with his heart and his mind. She was always the only woman for him and nothing seems to have changed on that score. He wants her still, but he also wants the future she wanted no part of. He well knows he can’t have both.

Stephanie Green believes she finally has the chance to realise her dream of opening her own cafĂ© until the bank reneges on a loan and Jamie offers to help her. Taking money from her ex-lover isn’t an option. But there is no other and, like everything he does, Jamie makes the offer too tempting to refuse. She remembers why she loved him, and still does. But that doesn’t mean they can be friends, let alone anything else.

Just as Stephanie makes her decision, Jamie changes the plan once more. Only this time he’s doing it for the right reasons. He’s putting his heart and career on the line. If she’s brave enough to take the required leap of faith, they just might have it all.

WARNING – This 6,800-word short-story portraits two hot alpha males who would do anything to entertain a gorgeous BWW passenger during a long otherwise dull transatlantic flight. Their encounter gets pretty steamy and naughty therefore it’s not recommended for the faint of heart or for those who object to three people finding pleasure together also known as threesomes.

About the Author:

When Liz Gavin was in Second Grade - just a couple of years ago, really - her teacher told her mother the little girl should start a diary because she needed an outlet for her active and vivid imagination. She was a talkative child who would disrupt the class by engaging her colleagues in endless conversations. She loved telling them the stories her grandfather used to tell her. Apparently, the teacher wasn't a big fan of those stories, and Liz's mother bought her a diary. She happily wrote on it for a couple of months. Unable to see the appeal of writing for her own enjoyment only, she gave up on it. She missed the audience her friends provided her in class. She went back to disturbing her dear teacher's class. Since then, she has become a hungry reader. She will read anything and everything she can get her hands on - from the classics to erotica. That's how she has become a writer of erotica and romance, as well. As a young adult, she participated in a student exchange program and lived in New Orleans for six months. She fell in love with the city and its wonderful inhabitants. NOLA will always hold a special spot in Liz Gavin's heart. Nowadays, living in Brazil, Liz's creativity has improved many times because it's such a vibrant, gorgeous and sexy country. Welcome to her world of hot Alpha males and naughty, independent women. Add a touch of the paranormal in the presence of some wicked souls and you'll get the picture. Sit back, fire up your Kindle and enjoy the ride!
