The banks of the Stillwater River have changed over the years, but one constant has been the tall, strong sycamore tree growing alongside the waters. Imagine all the things the sycamore has seen during her growth from a sprout to a mighty tree, and how the area has come to depend on her.

    Bio:

Mary Bingamon Haller is a graduate of Fairview High School, Dayton OH . She resides with her husband of 51 years and lives on the Stillwater River in West Milton OH . Her fondness and respect for nature is the reason for her writings of children’s books. Besides gardening, she enjoys genealogy.

    Review:

The Whispering Sycamore is a delightful story about the life of a sycamore tree. Through its years it has seen, heard and felt much, but with each passing year the tree has also become wise, strong, and beautiful. It allows its saplings to cover the earth to grow and see what she has seen, and to endure the hardships as well.

This is a powerful story that will make one think twice before cutting down certain trees in the yard. Children will love the story and delightful illustrations of this 24 page picture book.
