Turning fifty was the first time I really felt my age. I always felt and looked younger then I actually am chronologically. I still do look younger then I am but feel it, no not quite. I have aches and pains that I never felt before. Also I have not in my opinion reached my full potential yet.

As I watch young celebrities panicking about reaching thirty years old and getting botox, I shake my head. At thirty I was still being carded. I was still asked if I was old enough to work in this office. Thirty? They are children!

Believe me kids, Thirty is nothing. Now Fifty that is a brick wall that you have to watch out for. All of the sudden you ache in places you have never even thought of before. You have problems with parts of your body that worked perfectly the year before.You gain weight easier, and it is harder to get it off.

Fifty is what they should be worried about.This is what I learned.

About the Author

Sherri has been writing since she was a small child. She was inspired by Ray Bradbury and Agatha Christie. She had always loved writing but has had to make a living in a varied number of ways. She worked as an actress, a travel agent and in several forms of customer service. Her passion though has always been writing. Biography

My desire to write thrilling science-fiction came about in the late 90's as a result of many of my adventures around the world. Some form my military background and others from my civilian job and a few from my personal travels. Real life experiences fuel my stories and give them that "little extra" with a touch of fantasy and romance that we all crave when we read to escape reality with a feel good sensation. The Fractured Time Trilogy and Space Frontiers Series are great for ages 12 and up. Night Creeps 1 and 2 are strictly adult sci-fi/horror while the futuristic action Pain Series with Princess Pain is recommended for age 14 and up due to the violence.

Ever wondered about the birth of movies? In 1895 the Lumière brothers invented the Cinematograph. The two engineers created something that was completely new for their time: a machine that could shoot, develop, and above all, project images. They were credited for inventing the movies.

Like many of the Geronimo Stilton books, there is always something new to learn that will engage and educate readers. In this case the story focuses on the Lumiere brothers and their first attempt at a movie. But they did not know that they were being sabotaged by the pirate cats. The pirate cats wished to be the ones to be recognized for this amazing accomplishment in film. With the help of Professor Von Volt, Geronimo Stilton, Thea, Trap, and Benjamin go back in time to stop the pirate cats from changing history.

Geronimo fans will love reading the 56-page graphic novel Light, Camera, Stilton! though fans of the books will find some differences between reading Geronimo Stilton graphic novels and the Geronimo Stilton books. In the graphic novels many things carry over from one graphic novel to the next so if the reader didn’t read the other graphic novels they might miss some of the references implied. In the graphic novels there seems to be a different tone that is portrayed from Geronimo. In the books he can be funny and silly, with the plot adventurous or mysterious in some way. In the graphic novels the tone is definitely more serious, though adventure or mystery is central and wrapped around a historical event, and of course the characters look a little different.

The great thing about the graphic novel series is that they tend to have separate plots than the books, which is great for the readers and brings diversity. None of the stories are shortened or illustrated versions of the books. They each are unique and have different settings, plots, and educational value. Children who love history, and Geronimo Stilton, will like what this series teaches them.

This is a great story filled with mystery and ciphers. It is challenging for the advanced reader, yet interesting and action filled for the reluctant reader.

Children between 4th-7th grades are going to love The Crypto-Caper Series. The author does an amazing job involving the reader into the story. The mystery takes the reader to Russia where they will learn about Peter the Great as well as many other historical figures and topics. The reader will use different clues to solve the puzzles in the books. Book 1 through book 4 uses a Substitution Cipher to solve the puzzles, but in books 5 and 6, the author uses an Ottendorf Cipher. Children are always being challenged in each book, which will keep them interested and engaged. This book has won a Preferred Choice Award and it is easy to see why. Readers, teachers, and parents are going to love the smooth way the author keeps the reader's attention by introducing puzzles and history into a well woven mystery.
